OLIVER! Auditions May 29-June 3

Auditions for the Middlebury Community Players production of Oliver! will be at the Mary Hogan Elementary School. Auditions for children will be Thursday May 29 from 5-9 (callbacks Saturday May 31 at 10 AM). Adult auditions will be Monday and Tuesday June 2 & 3 from 7-10 (callbacks if needed on June 4).

All auditions will take place at the Mary Hogan School, 201 Mary Hogan Drive, Middlebury 05753 (off Route 7).

What do you need to audition for Oliver!? Enthusiasm, energy, and willingness to show your best self! The audition songs will be from the show music and we will teach/practice the required pieces before you “go on.” On arriving at Mary Hogan School, you will complete a registration form, have your picture taken, get a number, and then join either the singing or dancing workshop where the audition material will be taught. Each workshop will be twenty minutes long then you will switch to whichever one you haven’t been through yet.

Children must turn age 8 by September 1, 2014, in order to audition. For children’s auditions, the first set of workshops begins on May 29th at approx. 5:10pm, second at 5:30, presentation of audition will begin at 6. Children interested in a lead or solo part must sing and read alone, but everyone will dance in groups of up to 6. Children interested only in a choral part (orphan or pickpocket) may sing in small groups after demonstrating their vocal range.

Adults who audition will follow a similar format, but all adults should be prepared to sing alone. Adults should arrive by 7pm on June 2 or 3 (same audition process either night).
